Smack a power chord and you (not only) hear the fundamental notes...but you get (count 'em) 4, 5, even 6 additional overtones ringing into a feedback... notes that you can whistle if your ear is good enough! Think; Zep's "Ocean," "Custard Pie," Classic tones including James Gang, the Beatles, AC/DC, FREE., etc. Back off the guitar's volume and there are a dozen great other sounds at your fingertips... Clean, spanky sounds, with all the highs and lows still intact. And a Tele still sounds like a Tele, a Les Paul like a Les Paul.
PEDALS (until now) just can't hold a candle to what a good amp can do if you are really picky. You not only lose all the touch sensitivity, but forget about those complex Harmonics. (For me) It's always been somewhat of a compromise using Overdrive pedals... until now. Ladies and Gentleman, I am proud to introduce the Fulltone OCD. I made this pedal for me, but I think you might like it too.
* Operates as both fuzz distortion or clean-boost pedal
* Max-end-all 2 Band EQ with hi-cut and Bass control
* Raw and refined distortion with very few boundries
* Perfect Fuzz to combine with any amplifier
* Works well with wah and modulation effects unlike other fuzz pedals
FETs can behave like Tubes in a properly designed circuit. They can "clip" (distort) in a pleasing way instead of being buzzy or spiky sounding (like a Transistor) and can also add a subtle Limiting to the signal which can even-out the volume making your Live and Recorded tones more pleasing to the ear....that's why you'll see Recording Engineers using my Fat-Boost on everything from Acoustic & Electric Guitar, Electric Bass, and even Snare drums.
This final version of the Fat-Boost (Model FB-3) incorporates all of the things that people have loved about previous versions of the Fulltone Fat-Boosts without any of the shortcomings, and brings back the 11 step FET Bias Drive Knob that was missing from the FB-2. Youll notice that the Drive knob makes a slight scraping noise when you turn it...not to worry... that is totally normal, and is simply the sound of the Bias changing and settling on the FET MuAmp. The Fat-Boost 3 gives you the feeling that your amp is Cranked at living room volumes so your playing is more dynamic and notes hold on longer without being distorted. It makes up for all the tone loss that (even True-Bypass) pedals impart to your sound, especially if youre like me and have a lot of pedals on your pedalboard...I rarely turn the FB-3 off....you may not either!
Hard clipped distortion (the way most pedals achieve distortion) at one point in a circuit can be cool, but stage after stage of FET (GT-500) is very real, very amplike, has ridiculous amounts of sustain even at low volume, does the great chunky low string rhythm stuff and cleans up incredibly well when you turn down the guitar's volume.
Touch responsive, huge sounding, sustain for days... and crystal clear when the guitar's volume knob is reduced for great live dynamics. Being that Robin uses Fenders as well as Marshalls, it had to work well with both types...it does. And Robin hits so hard that the front end of the pedal had to be tuned for those .012-.048 tuned-down strings...the RTO holds tight and smooth for Strat and Les Paul players alike.
Robin's quite happy with the way it turned out, and I think you will be too.
* Class-A , 100% JFET powered, no op amps!
* the most headroom (before clipping) of any pedal you've tried.
* pre-clipping Bass Control (keeps things from getting flabby when using neck pickup.
* perfect Treble control, allows lots of sparkle, yet can brown up nicely.
* one of the byproducts of this well-designed multi-stage FET device is that it is probably the best compressor you'll ever feel, You Nashville Tele and strat players are going to LOVE what this feels like and what it does to the Recording Levels.
* offers a little bit of Tweed-style crunch tone with Drive control turned up, but excels as clean Booster.
* a better output section (non-inverting, and extremely Low-Z output to drive other pedals and long cables)
* our proprietary '"you can't kill it with any power supply, it'll run off anything!" power section.
* True Bypass, Super Bright LED, and our exclusive anti-pop switching circuitry.
The Bass-Drive is a lot like its cousin the Full-Drive2, but voiced with an extra octave of bass coverage... still giving a natural, uncolored FATNESS to your thang.
From just adding a little grind, to replicating a raging SVT, to sounding like Jack Bruce in The Cream. (He's got one already!)
Jimi Hendrix and Eric Clapton used a Vox "Clyde McCoy" model wah wah. Photos taken during the recording of "Electric Ladyland" document Jimi's as being the "signature" model, featuring Clyde McCoy's name written out script style on the bottomplate. The other type of Clyde McCoy was the "picture" version, which had Clyde's photo on the bottomplate. The "signature" model, with it's great sounding "halo" inductor, is what the Fulltone CLYDE is modelled after.
The Fulltone"CLYDE" was born from taking the best of the best of my more than 25 pc. vintage Vox wah collection, and analyzing every aspect... going so far as sacrificing a few of the vintage inductors to get it right.
Our Inductor is a tuned core hand-made unit using EXACTLY the same type wire and inductance as the '60's era Vox, except VERY consistent from one unit to the next. A tuned core inductor is much more expensive to make, but the end result is worth it, drop this into your wah and Experience the difference!
* 10-step Variable Input Level Control
* True-Bypass w/ bright side-viewable low current Pilotlight status indicator
* 3 selectable modes:
o "Wacked"
o "Jimi" (Clyde Standard)
o "Shaft"
The three-way mode switch and variable input control pot will let you dial in almost any type of wah sound you can imagine. All the way from classic Voodoo Chile... to biting funk... to down and dirty low-end grunt. The CLYDE Deluxe can do it all!
Almost synth-like with its ring-modulation and "steel-drum" vibe... you will turn heads.
With True-Bypass and LED's (for both features), it also has a "Fat/Bright" switch that completely changes both the distortion and octave sounds from strong thick mids (Fat) to completely scooped out with no mids, lotsa bass and hi-end ("Bright"). The world's most versatile Octavia!
FPS-1 (negative center pin) for use with most pedals including FD2, OCD, Bassdrive, UltOct, 70pedal, CF-1, etc
Matched transistors and photocells for consistently great sound. Internal transformer that's fuse protected (No wall wart adapters!) and with a custom flat wire 10' 3-prong detachable AC cable.
16 ga.welded steel housing -- built like a Hummer. TrueBypass w/ LED, footswitch located by your heel so you can engage on the fly or leave the speed at your favorite setting and turn off with your toe!
The FLANGING is amazing! Very musical and very reminiscent of "House Burning Down" and "High Landrons." And without a bunch of noise... in ((STEREO)) too.
The CHORUS is wide ranging, getting everything from thick pitch-bent vibrato'd vintage CE-1 style sounds to very transparent splits, but without the sterility of the popular hi-end choruses. And there's more headroom so that there isn't any input overload distortion if you use heavy strings (like me) or play bass. This thing does great Leslie simulations as well, in both stereo and mono operation.
Now it's tiny enough to fit on the most cluttered pedalboard, and because of the mini-DV's unique voltage doubling circuit you can use any standard 9 volt adapter or power supply (Fulltones FPS-1 is included) and inside the pedal the power is ramped up to the original Univibe's 18 volts DC!
Features also include a mini-toggle switch to choose between Vintage/Modern settings allowing for warm original '60's Univibe grind (Vintage setting) and louder, with more output (Modern setting). The Deja'Vibe has received a make-over!
